"Across the Hall" Review

Image
This short film was created by Alex Merkin. It is about a man called Terry who thinks that his fiancée is cheating. He decides to ring his friend Julian to talk about his situation; Julian must attempt to defuse this tense situation- as Terry is camped outside in a hotel room across from his cheating lover. This film ticks all the boxes for a short film; firstly, the length of the film is a bit longer than most short films but as the story is very good it needs to be a bit longer. Next, the characters in the film are very good they are all different in there own ways: Terry- a man who has gone insane as his life is falling apart and is going crazy; Julian - who at first seems like a laid back man but as the movie goes on has change as the worse his friend gets and he has to save him. Also this film has a great twist at the end and ends a very good cliff-hanger which catches everyone off guard from the first surprise to the last one which is needed for a good short film...

"George Lucas in Love" Review

Image
"George Lucas in Love" is a short film created by Joseph Levy. This film's genre is a romantic comedy. The story of the film is how George Lucas created the idea of the Star Wars when he was in university. throughout the film you can see characters from the films. The romance in the film first happens when George is in the cinema thinking about what to write when a women comes in, looking like Leah from Star Wars, then romantic music starts playing. through the rest of the film they recreate actions Luke and Leah  do in the original trilogy. Finally, the go in to kiss but a woman comes and screams, the two stop and both say "MOM!" This is because in the Movies the two find out they are siblings, so doing this is keeping true to the story and adding some comedy to the film.

Chase Scene

We were asked to create a chase scene in small groups, then had to edit them individually. In our scene our camera ran out of battery so we had to improvise and say the scene will be continued or some people in our group said "the rest of the clip was lost" this makes it look better than just stopping the scene on a black screen.
