War Genre

when watching a war movie you would expect certain things to happen. Themes explored include combat, survival and escape, sacrifice, the futility and inhumanity of battle, the effects of war on society, and the moral and human issues raised by war. These can depend on the type of war film as some films are pro-war and you can expect to see a lot of action and brotherhood, painting the protagonist as a hero. while for anti-war movies you can  see that they can be more gruesome and more emotional

Action Genre

these sort of films have the protagonist or protagonists end up in a series of challenges that typically include violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases. Action films tend to feature a resourceful hero struggling against incredible odds, which include life-threatening situations, a villain, or a pursuit which generally concludes in victory for the hero.

Response to Pitch Feedback

In lesson we presented our pitch for our short film to our class. After presenting it I asked questions to them to see what they felt about and they asked me questions about what they think I could do to improve my film. One idea they said which i liked was to make a rather big age gap between my characters; meaning make the General an older man and the officer a young adult/late teen. this is because they said most young people say that they are anti-war while older people would say they are the opposite. I like this idea as it will go well with the anti-war theme, I will try and add this to my film by getting an older person to act in the film or just to get someone to look older than they are. they were also other ideas i liked such as different ways of adding some anti-war poetry into the film such as adding it into the dialog between the two characters.
