short film festivals

short film festivals are where short film creators go to show off there new creations and have it seen by other creators, critics and just normal people coming watch. it is a great way to show off your product to hundreds of people.
some example of short film festivals include:
  • London Short Film Festival
  • UK Film Festival
  • Cinemagic
  • International Film Festival
If I was to submit to a film festival I would choose the London short film festival as it only focuses on short films and gives me the chance to show off my short film to one of the biggest cities in the world. This festival is the mecca for the UK’s young creative talent and a significant date in the UK film calendar.

Response to Pitch Feedback

In lesson we presented our pitch for our short film to our class. After presenting it I asked questions to them to see what they felt about and they asked me questions about what they think I could do to improve my film. One idea they said which i liked was to make a rather big age gap between my characters; meaning make the General an older man and the officer a young adult/late teen. this is because they said most young people say that they are anti-war while older people would say they are the opposite. I like this idea as it will go well with the anti-war theme, I will try and add this to my film by getting an older person to act in the film or just to get someone to look older than they are. they were also other ideas i liked such as different ways of adding some anti-war poetry into the film such as adding it into the dialog between the two characters.
