Audience Profile

the target audience for this short film will be aimed at mostly younger adults rather than older ones; this is because my film is  more of an anti-war film and the younger generation are mostly more towards the anti-war side. Also as my film's genre is war and action it may not appeal to people who do not enjoy that genre who normally tend to be women.

short film festivals

short film festivals are where short film creators go to show off there new creations and have it seen by other creators, critics and just normal people coming watch. it is a great way to show off your product to hundreds of people. some example of short film festivals include: London Short Film Festival UK Film Festival Cinemagic International Film Festival If I was to submit to a film festival I would choose the London short film festival as it only focuses on short films and gives me the chance to show off my short film to one of the biggest cities in the world. This festival is the mecca for the UK’s young creative talent and a significant date in the UK film calendar.

Genre Research

War Genre when watching a war movie you would expect certain things to happen. Themes explored include combat, survival and escape, sacrifice, the futility and inhumanity of battle, the effects of war on society, and the moral and human issues raised by war. These can depend on the type of war film as some films are pro-war and you can expect to see a lot of action and brotherhood, painting the protagonist as a hero. while for anti-war movies you can  see that they can be more gruesome and more emotional Action Genre these sort of films have the protagonist or protagonists end up in a series of challenges that typically include violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases. Action films tend to feature a resourceful hero struggling against incredible odds, which include life-threatening situations, a villain, or a pursuit which generally concludes in victory for the hero.

Short Film - Risk Assessments

I will be filming outside so there are few risk assessments I need to do to ensure the safety of the people on set. The main risk there will be is cars driving the drive way up Ormesby Hall, normally hardly any cars come up there apart from the odd dog walker driving up to the car park. The way to make sure no one is hurt is to keep people of the road and if filming does go onto the road have someone looking out for cars driving up. Another risk is the weather, as we are getting late on in the year there is more of risk of heavier rain and snow which can result in people slipping and injuring themselves. I can stop this from happening by checking the weather before shooting and choosing dates that aren't supposed to have poor weather. Finally, the last risk assessment I can think about is the surface of the set, this is because pebbled stone which means it could result in someone tripping over and injuring themselves. This can be stopped by having people wear suitable footwear s...
